Bloody huge day in the mountains. Weather was perfect. Plenty of people on the trail for the ANZAC long weekend.
Route went really well, as expected. One wrong turn, but otherwise followed Rob’s FKT gpx file - thanks Rob! I had your name in my head all day 😊
Legs cramping for the entire second half but managed to good it together. I made sure I touched every cairn/trig or had GPS co-ordinates correctly on top of every Peak.
The route is incredibly hard to run fast. Lots of it is totally off road, with plenty of trip hazards. Rolled ankle and two jarred knees as punishment for the effort. It’s very easy for something to go wrong, and fueling for that distance at speed is a big hurdle.
Incredibly rewarding - highly recommend!
