Jamie and I set out to complete this loop. We saw a line on the map and wanted to pick up some pace and see what we could accomplish. The route is rough - make no mistake about it. We completed in mid-May with tons of snow on the route, ideal conditions are going to be summer on this, but could make a few of the headwall approaches tricky. There is a faint trail all the way, connecting with the F road which takes you right back into town.

It's an incredible way to see the fjords of the north and truly experience a bit of the rugged Iceland coast in a very raw capacity. This route has a little bit of everything to keep you on your toes but still includes wonderful running. Good amount of climbing is constrained to a few major climbs, and some loose terrain keeps it fresh. Once you've hit the bridge, you know you've made it to the ladder half of the run. I don't know how many times this specific loop has been completed, but I hope folks give it a shot while they are in Iceland.
