This one has been on my radar for a while. I went and did recon on the route last year. It is a beautiful National Park with beautiful facilities and beautiful trails. I booked the day tripper ferry only a few days prior and I believe there was only one or two spots remaining. The 10:30 AM ferry was all booked up so I took the noon ferry over. There was some rain in the forecast, but so far things were dry and looked good. Fingers crossed! I really didn't want to be slipping on the northern rocky sections. Once the ferry docked, I put my gear bag in the storage lockers and got ready to do a good warm up. Finished the warm up, used the washroom and was ready to go.

I got started at 1:18 PM. I decided to go counter clockwise. I had the GPX loaded on my watch and hopefully wouldn't take any wrong turns when following the perimeter. It didn't take long until I took a wrong turn haha. Luckily, it didn't cost me too much time and I got back on track. There were some muddy sections up north and I took a pretty good fall early on. My left leg was covered in mud. I stayed focused, looked at my watch often and ran a steady pace. I was happy to get the north section done. The southern section is less technical and wasn't as tricky in regards to navigation. I also tried to pick things up on the easier sections the best I could. I made the last couple turns and made it back to the head of trails sign where I started. I saw I was just over 2 hours. It would have been nice to have been under 2, but I'm still happy with my time and effort. You really have to be on the ball to make all the proper turns to stay on course.

I carried about a liter of electrolyte drink mix and some maple syrup. There are plenty of spots to top up and water, but I didn't.

So glad I finally did this. I lucked out with great weather and a beautiful day overall. I took the ferry back to the car and made my way back home. Only a 45 min drive for me to get to Honey Harbour where the ferry leaves. This is more than just a trail, it's a little day adventure which is very memorable. Highly recommend it!

Nice Work!  I am building on an island right near this and ran a version of the loop last year. I will attempt this this summer!
