There was some controversy around Kilian's climb as he apparently cut switchbacks on the trail section, which is not allowed by the National Park (but is common practice in Europe). He made a recce climb with Anton Krupicka a few days earlier, as documented in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_Z1-smRsoU He also climbed the route with Emelie Forsberg the day before his record run.
