Route: Devil's Dome/Jack Mountain loop (WA)

Location
Washington, US
Distance
39.6 mi
Vertical Gain
10,000 ft
Description

Doug McKeever posted: This is a classic loop trail in the western portion of the Pasayten Wilderness in Washington. It is 43 miles and has 7300 feet of gain (same loss). Much of the loop is in meadows with abundant flowers, wide views....and mosquitoes! On July 16, 1988, Richard West and I ran the loop in 9:01. We started and finished at the East Bank trailhead on Highway 20 and ran counterclockwise, which is preferable IMO to clockwise. I did the loop again with Richard West, Craig Moore, and Sean Nordquist on August 11 1990 but didn't record our time.

Added by admin: I've found a few other reports of 1-day runs on this route, but so far none faster than McKeever & West in 1988. Tyler Green's time of 9h00m36s on July 21, 2015 (reported below), might be considered a tie since McKeever didn't report seconds. This page has some good info, GPS track and links.
