Location
Czechia
Distance
51.3 km
Description

Vojtech Boril submitted the route:

„CHKO Žďárské vrchy“ is one of the most prominent protected nature zones in the Czech republic, whose rock formations, forest remains and rare species of moorland plants combine to make it one of the jewels in the region’s crown.

The region is most known for its ideal conditions for mountain biking and cross country skiing, but offers a plenty of options also for trail running. The route offers the best spots in the region for outdoor lovers, rocks, meadows, technical downhills, trails and typical Czech grasslands.

The route is 51k traverse of the main peaks including the highest summit of the region - Zdarske Vrchy. The vertical gain is 1600m+. The official route includes summiting two major rocks in the region - Devet Skal and Pasecka skala. For the future attempts, the runners should give evidence they summited both of these rocks as summiting the rock is time-consuming and just passing the route around the rocks is not enough.

All in all, this route offers the best features of this region.
