Description

Parking near then starting at scales farm country guest house CA12 4SY.

Take the path up and through the gate and turn right, you then follow the main path up to sharp edge and get onto it from the left via steps again via the main path.

You then follow the ridge line, do not take the chicken east paths as there is a notoriously bad bit coming up where you need to be used to the exposure, this is called bad step I advise reading about this in the link below as it’s well known to mountain rescue and has been fatality’s.

Once past bad step keep on the ridge line and you finish at the bottom of a near vertical face called Foule crag, this is ace scrambling and care needs to be taken.

Once at the top go to the summit of Blencathra then down Halls fell which again is a ridge line and stuck to the ridge no chicken paths or east routes, once at the bottom turn left then follow the path back to the guest house via climbing down a waterfall.
