Route: Ruahine Traverse: Comet to Limestone CL

The Ruahines are a rugged mountain range on the North Island of New Zealand. This route traverses the main range between Comet hut in the North and Limestone carpark in the South mainly via untracked ridges. It is the 'big sister' to the SK Tararua main range further south with more technical terrain to get through including some bush-bashing and scrambling. Requiring navigational skills and with limited bail-out options a good weather forecast and self-sufficiency is a must even so getting to the end is by no means guaranteed.
