Description

This route links together three classic climbs in the village of Shelburne Falls in Western Massachusetts. Each lap of the route is a challenge alone but together they are a worthy FKT route. Two of the three climbs are on pavement, the third and final climb is half paved road, half trail. The first climb is around two and a half miles long, the second is only about a half a mile long but very very steep and the third is BOTH long and steep!

Three laps, each tackling a different piece of the beautiful Shelburne Falls hillsides.

Each lap must start outside of the Floodwater Brewery, (40 State St., Shelburne Falls) and the end of the route is there as well.

In order the laps from the Floodwater Brewery are:
Lap 1: Ashfield street to Bray road then uphill to the white mailbox approximately two and a half miles from the start, turn around and go back to the start.
Lap 2: Clement street to Crittenden Hill road then uphill to where the pavement turns to dirt, turn around and go back to the start.
Lap 3: Turn left and cross the river then continue up Bridge street to South Maple Street and turn left on State route 2. Take the Tower Trail located at the start of Halligan ave. Follow the White Blazes 1.3 miles to the fire tower, touch the tower and return by the same route back to the start.

The assents can be done in any order.
