Route: Lahnwanderweg

Die Lahn ist ein Deutscher Fluss, der im südöstlichen Rothaargebirge entspringt, drei Bundesländer (NRW, Hessen und Rheinland-Pfalz) durchfließt und nach 245 km im Rhein mündet.
Durch das ganze Lahntal von der Quelle bis zur Mündung über Berg und Tal, Wald und Aue führt der wunderschöne Lahnwanderweg.
Fröhlich und unbeschwert durchstreift er die Landschaften des Lahntales und verknüpft auf charmante Weise lebendige Orte und ihre Sehenswürdigkeiten. Traumhaft verwunschen ist die Landschaft an der Lahnquelle und im oberen Lahntal. Die Auenlandschaften im mittleren Lahntal bieten reichlich Weite für das Auge und im unteren Lahntal schlängelt sich der Fluss wildromantisch an hoch aufragenden Felsen entlang. Auf knapp 300 Kilometern zeigt der Lahnwanderweg die ganze Schönheit des Flusstales und des umgebenden Berglandes mit erhabenen Schlössern und Burgen, quirligen Dörfern und Städtchen und mit ruhigen Wäldern und Auen.

The Lahn is a German river that rises in the southeastern Rothaar Mountains, crosses three federal states (NRW, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate) and flows into the Rhine after 245 km.
The beautiful Lahnwanderweg trail leads through the entire Lahn valley from the source to the mouth over mountains and valleys, forests and meadows.
The trail roams the landscapes of the Lahn valley thereby charmingly linking lively places and their sights. The landscape at the source of the Lahn and in the upper Lahn valley is a dreamlike enchantment. The floodplain landscapes in the middle Lahn valley offer plenty of chances to look into the distance and in the lower Lahn valley the river meanders along precipitous rocks in a wild and romantic way. With a total distance of almost 300 kilometers, the Lahnwanderweg trail reveals the full beauty of the river valley and the surrounding mountain area with its sublime castles and palaces, its lively villages and towns and its peaceful forests and floodplains.
