Description

Traversing the full range of Marsfjällen is a great one-day adventure over technical terrain with stunning views but without real exposure. The route is an open course, tagging the ridgelines and summits of Risfjället, Gierehtseåelkie, the summits 1544 and 1590, Marsfjället, Gahkagaejsientjahke and Ortsen, with the potential extension of Aajnantjahke and Rovpentjahke which should make the distance closer to 30 km. The traverse can be done coveniently with access from north or south, starting from either the path from Marsliden or the hut of Bleriken, as a roundtrip connected by the main path or as a point-to-point. Along the ridgeline there are good water sources at Trollskalet and the groove between the 1590 summit and Marsfjället.
