Description

Located on the northern border of the Australian Capital Territory, this run takes you along parts of the Centenary Trail. You will encounter a combination of undulating fire trails and some lovely snippets of very runnable single track. Starting at Mulligans Flat Road you will head in to Little Mulligan’s to Oak Hill, through the Northern Border Campground and up to One Tree Hill where you can take in the vista of northern Canberra.

From here you will backtrack to hop across Mulligan’s Flat Road and in to Mulligan’s Flat Nature Reserve, following the border trail until you reach Goorooyaroo Nature Reserve. Continue to follow the main track before veering off to the left to grab Goorooyaroo Trig then across to Old Joe for another spectacular view of Northern Canberra. From here you make a beeline back to the main track all the way through to the turnoff to the Federal Highway. Through the gate and up the hill where the trail becomes less defined and you’ll capture Gecko Hill before turning back to return to the main track. From here you will continue around to nab Burnt Stump, another tops view then it’s back down and up the Throsby Throbber then on to your last flag atop Sammy’s Hill.

From here it’s heading back to complete your loop along Old Coach Road and the Link Trail. All in all this is an easy trail with a couple of punchy climb.
