Description

Starting beneath historic Carisbrooke Castle walking up and down the chalky hills of the island through Whitcombe Cross, Gatcombe, Chillerton, Billingham and Kingston to the coast with great views over the surrounding countryside.

Details regarding the route profile can be found on the LDWA site address provided below:

The trail is mainly on farm tracks and runs directly south from the centre of the island starting just under Carisbrooke Castle. The end of the trail is Shepherds Chine which forms part of the IOW coastal path on the south of the Isle of Wight. Usually a really enjoyable walk to the southern cliffs this would also make a nice little trail run sitting just under the 8 mile distance, finishing in one of the most scenic areas of the island, often where dinosaur bones are found when the cliff starts falling away.

Unable to upload any pictures currently due to an upload file error being reported when I try to. Although I have walked this path often I don't have too many pictures anyway.
