Description

63 kilometers, nearly 3,000 vertical meters. That doesn't sound like something that can't be done. But on this route, Zubatá (meaning "death" and also "jagged" in Czech) is right on your heels. Once you set off on the trail, Zubatá will (imaginatively :)) follow your footsteps. From the moment you leave the start, she will follow you relentlessly along the entire route. If you complete the route within 10 hours, you have escaped. If you don't, her scythe gets stuck in your back.

Zubatá is a FKT challenge in the northern part of the Czech Republic in the Jizera Mountains since March 2021. Its purpose is to cover a 63-kilometre route leading over four climbs with an elevation gain of approximately 500 metres. In order to complete the FKT challenge, the runner must complete the route within a time limit of 10 hours.

The route starts in the town of Hejnice, leads clockwise over the peaks of Holubník, SmÄ›dava and Smrk (which the runner will climb twice from different sides). In its existence, approximately 52 runners have set out to "escape Zubatá", of which 32 have successfully completed the challenge.
