What a way to finish the weekend!
After an action packed weekend guiding the Welsh 3000s, we didn’t fancy the slow drive back down the A5 and M5.
A weather window of near perfect conditions was too good to miss. We left Pen y Pass car park at 4:45am with the plan to make an attempt on the Fastest Known Time for the Welsh 3 Peaks. This involves climbing Snowdon in North Wales, Cadair Idris in Mid Wales and Pen y Fan in South Wales.
The official record stands at 9hrs 6 minutes (including all driving in between). Matt Knapp and Justin Nicholas have now reduced this to 7 hrs 29 mins. A new FKT for the Welsh 3 Peaks!
