Set off from Bromsgrove at 8:00am for an unsupported Bewdley round trip FKT attempt. Public transport logistics added some time: train from Great Malvern to Kidderminster, then a scenic steam train to Bewdley. I finally began the route at 10:23am.
Despite the early forecast threatening rain and strong winds, I managed to dodge the worst of it. However, the ground conditions were brutal - extremely wet and muddy, making climbs a real battle. I pushed through, rationing my 3 liters of water as I neared the end. Consumed all planned gels and food, with no additional stops.
Finished the route in a time of 6 hours, 16 minutes, and 11 seconds. Which I was pleased with considering the challenging conditions and not having run the route before.
