FKT: Alex Borsuk - Glacier Peak (WA) - 2021-07-31

Fun day! Was surprised how little snow there was for July. The basin had little snow, which made traveling and route finding a bit tedious and slow, as it was all over rocks, scree and boulders instead than snow. The Cool Glacier is opening up so navigation was also a little tedious. Had to jump over two cracks, and there was evidence of many people breaking through other snow bridges. I used microspikes and carried an axe, but didn't use it. Plenty of water on the trail, which was great, since it was a hot one (a heat advisory + 100% humidity!). Quite smoky from wildfires in the area.

Such a great trail - a fun mix of amazing trail, technical trail, route finding, and snow/glacier travel - a serious bang for your buck!
