Great day out in new hills for me. Very pleasant weather (goldilocks conditions) and firm enough but grippy underfoot. None of the ascents are massive but build over the day. Once up on Moel Fferna, there is great running to be had. The Glyn Ceiriog section was a bit tiresome at points but was very quiet (a bridge closure at Bronygarth forced a short detour that probably lost me 10 mins). The down then up back on the Llangollen Round was tough. Great to go over the aquaduct too. The Trevor section of the route looks relentless on the map but was actually alright. Filled up water around here, although most of the route was alarmingly dry. The Cyrn-y-Brain portion of the route was pretty difficult, then the steep descents on the Llantysilio Mountain part were a bit unwelcome. The last 5k as the light was fading was some encouragement to get on with it. Pleased with the effort, cracking day out in a quiet part of the world.
