South Climb round trip
2h 58m 40s
This morning, Tuesday June 26th, 2018, I ran/hiked the South Climb route up Mt. Adams. I started my watch, a Garmin Forerunner 230, at the log fence just before the information sign at the Cold Springs Trailhead. It took me 2:05:20 for the ascent from trailhead to summit and was able to cruise down for a round trip time of 2:58:40.
Here is the link to my Strava activity: https://www.strava.com/activities/1663862716
And here is the link to the same activity on Garmin Connect, I don't know if it handles the gpx file differently: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2806586717
I think this is a new round trip FKT but wasn't quite able to get Sean O'Rourke for the ascent FKT.
Hate to buzzkill but...you got the decent CR for #183...but didnt register a time for the ascent segment...because you very obviously cut the trail in two places on the ascent, per your Strava track.
Should that still count as an FKT? Were it a race you'd be DQ'd. Just wondering.
I am going to have to agree with jacehopper on this one. We should not be violating LNT principles in our attempts at FKT's. It sets a poor example.
