Started early on a Saturday morning around 5am. I basically had the trail to myself until I got closer to Emporium. Lots of solitude and plenty of wildlife. The trail is a little rougher, starting from the Wetlands Learning Center, but it's really not bad. Once you get to the official trailhead, it's wide and well graded. Super cruisy miles. All things considered, a great way to knock out some distance on the weekend.
