A long training run in excellent autumnal conditions with blue skies and warm temperatures but with a cooling breeze in my face the whole way. A slight navigational error (missed left turn) near Sedgeford added an extra half mile to the distance but generally the trail was very well marked. Pace was good up until about mile 38 but then fueling issues caused a marked slow down over the last 9 miles. At the finish I still had plenty of gels and water left which I really should have consumed if I hadn't felt so sick.
I got myself to the start with a combination of train and taxi but my long-suffering family picked me up from Holme and then lorded it over me by eating huge amounts of fish and chips that I couldn't face.
