On March 23, 2024 at 3:33am I started the Marianna's 100 with my friend Jon Krist. Jon Krist ran the entire distance with me, also completing the 100 miles. The course, originally completed by Dillon Quitugua, is a 100 mile figure 8 perimeter run around the island of Guam. I was supported by crew vehicles along the way, and pacers who accompanied me for miles. Due to the nature of the course, I was fully supported the entire time with a crew vehicle either following me or stopping ahead. There were long stretches without a shoulder to run on that required me to be followed for safety purposes. Dillon Quitugua joined in crewing and pacing for this run. The race was brutal. Apart from the intense road hills, we faced the obstacle of intense storms through the evening hours and into the second day. When it was not extremely windy and rainy, it was extremely hot. The race concluded in the evening on Sunday March 24th where I finished with loops around Paseo park to get me to 100 - just like Dillon's original run. This was an amazing experience, and I am honored to be the first woman to complete it. I could not have done it without the tribe of supporters, crew, pacers - and especially my running buddy Jon. We hope to continue to empower all pacific islanders to push boundaries and try new things.
