Looking for an alternative to the Turkey Trot, I gave the San Clemente Pier to Summit to Pier loop a try on Thanksgiving morning! The GPX route on the FKT site didn't download so I laid out a new one that matched the original on Strava. The attached GPX route follows the original except for one part where the trail was closed, forcing me to take Cristianitos Road for a small stretch near the end. It ended up being the same total length of just over 26 miles but adds a bit of bonus elevation for a total of 2,877 feet of elevation gain. My goal was to make it back to the pier before the 10am parking meter started ticking and I made it with 5 minutes to spare! The route was beautiful - big thanks to Nicole Bright for laying this one out.
