FKT: Ally Carlton - Art Loeb Trail (NC) - 2023-12-16

Ran the Art Loeb southbound on Saturday, December 16th, unsupported. Got started a little after 7:00 am. It felt much harder than Northbound (especially mentally); I wish I had paced myself a little more conservatively. I had about a liter and a half of water in my pack, as well as a few gels, a Cliff bar, and some Honey Stinger chews. I had plenty of water but wish I had packed another Cliff bar or something solid. Weather was great, trail was still pretty leafy. Good bit of ice up on the Black Balsam section, slowed me down a bit. The last 8 miles or so were pretty tough, it felt like I didn't have much gas left in the tank. But overall a super fun day out there!
