It was going to be a hot day in August with temperatures above 30°C, so we packed our backpacks not only with enough food for our planned unsupported through hike of the Leo-Jobst-Weg but also with plenty of water, 4.5 litres each, which turned out being barely enough, luckily we also passed by a public fountain in Eberstmannstadt Stadtpark where we could fill up a bottle with some extra water.
The hike went pretty smoothly and we were able to keep a good pace, didn't have any breaks until half of the distance. Although the number of short breaks got a bit more frequent towards the end, since the hot temperatures and monotony of the trail towards the end cost us quite some energy. We pushed through the last 5kms without stopping and finally arrived at the finish point in under 11 hours!
