FKT: Andrew Cotterell - High Rockies Trail (AB, Canada) - 2022-06-26

I was dropped off at Elk Pass trailhead and made my way out there (~6km) to start right at Elk Pass. Lots of water on route until Sparrowhawk, then the creeks were dry until after Driftwood day use. I carried all my own food and received no support or assistance. I only recorded 1500m of gain across the route but it certainly felt like more than that! I finished at the trail sign at the intersection of the Goat Creek trail as opposed to the Goat Creek trailhead for two reasons - this is the official end of the High Rockies trail, it's part of the Canada Great Trail which continues to Banff. Also the Goat Creek trailhead was closed for construction. I did walk around the construction to Goat Creek trailhead after I stopped my watch which took me 10 minutes, but haven't included this in my time.
