Beautiful fall temps in Glacier on Saturday the 24th! Andrew and I launched off (unsupported) around 6:15am by headlamp and cool temps from the Logan Pass visitor's center. Our packs were heavier than normal laden with food, water filters and layers, as it was a very cool and blustery start.
Took some time at Granite Park to eat and take in the scenery.
A very large bighorn sheep momentarily halted our progress between Granite Park and Fifty Mountain. We took the side trip to Sue Lake overlook, which was the highlight of the run! Absolutely epic views and well worth the additional 0.6 miles.
Numerous locations for filtering water along the way.
Made it to Goat Haunt just after 2pm, and was able to catch the 2:25pm ferry out.....thus a successful "Mad Dash".
