Starting from the friend campground trailhead, touching the tower, and back to the trailhead. I took 2 liters of water in my Nathan Hydration pack (which was unnecessary) and no food or gels. The trail had a fair amount of baseball-sized rocks that were definitely an ankle rolling hazard as you neared the top. all in all a pretty awesome trail and a rewarding view. I was accompanied by my dog Dandy and my buddy Patrick. I will definitely be back in the spring to try and set the bar higher! I think sub 1:30 is a very reachable goal with focused training.
