FKT #2 for the @bois.in.motion December challenge. With my weekends in Toronto being pretty limited this December, I decided to flip my original plan and do this route late at night to avoid stopping at lights.

I parked at Kipling station and took the subway east all the way to Kennedy to begin my attempt. Got to Kennedy & started my attempt just after 11PM, giving me just enough time to do the FKT and get back to Kipling South Lot before it closed. Weather was decent for the time of year, around -10C and decently windy.

After doing the Toronto Bruce Trail Urban Badge FKT I knew that I could go decently light on the hydration & carbs with the cold weather. I carried 2 Salomon Soft flasks in a vest with 50g of carbs & two SIS Beta Fuel Chews (ended up only having 1 of these). I wore a headlamp, reflective vest, a battery bank to make sure my phone stayed alive in the cold, and my Insta360 GO3S to moments of the run.

This was such an awesome route, and a fun way to see the city & explore a bunch of stations I had never been too (mostly on the east end). Having to focus on taking pictures at each station, and thinking of them as checkpoints really made this attempt flyby.

Starting late worked out really well, and got stopped by a red light only once or twice.

My gripes from my attempt were:
- taking a spill on ice (sneaky patch of ice under powdery snow got me)
- having to keep taking my gloves on and off at each station to snap a picture

keep it movin’ & groovin’
