I took the train to Langelsheim and hiked to the starting point in Wolfshagen. On the way I stopped at the tourist information for the Steinway Stempelheft.
I liked the first 5-6 km of the Steinway Trail with its nice views and trails. The asphalt foot/cycling path beneath the street was unexpected and a little bummer as well as the gravelroad in the following long uphill. The last part, mostly on trails, was quite nice again. I walked from the end point to Seesen, picked up the Steinway Trail Abzeichen in the tourist station and took the train back home.
It was a beautiful summerday and I had the trail mostly for myself. I ran the whole trail but stopped at Mandolinenhütte and Tränbachhütte for the stamps. I wore a trail vest with 1l of water, cereal bars and changing cloths.
