This was my third attempt at completing this route. I have a LOT of respect for anyone who gets this done because wow, that was hard.

I started on the West side of Oahu around 4:30 pm and went clockwise around the island. Four of my friends piled into a white van and crewed me for the entire thing. I started solo for the first couple of miles, but then had a pacer up the west side and around kaena point, until mile 35 or so. I ran solo through the night for 20+ miles and then had pacers for the remainder.

My crew supplied me with hydration, calories, lube, etc. and so many people came out from the community to run and cheer!

The weather was amazing for the most part. A full moon and cool temps, with a few places with really intense wind and a little bit of sideways rain. I think I was in a low for most of the last 50 miles.. and the last 20 miles were probably the hardest miles I have ever ran. My goal was just to keep moving so my friends and I could go HOME and sleep! We all ran it in together, finishing in a little over 31 hours.

It's definitely possible to do this faster.. however, I may retire from road ultras for the rest of forever. We will see.
