Lauren and I like to do some kind of desert run every fall and decided on the Bryce Canyon Traverse, which she and her boyfriend had done the previous year. We ran a car shuttle in the morning and started at Rainbow Point. The majority of the route is on the Under the Rim trail (~21 miles) and it finishes on the Peak-a-boo Trail to the Rim Trail to the finish at Fairyland Point. We lucked out with a clear, sunny day and mainly snow-free trails. It seems like this traverse isn't done very often, but it's a fast, runnable 50k and quite fun –– lots of flowy single track. We took a very leisurely pace so this time is extremely soft! We had water only once, at Yellow Springs at about mile 18, but that was enough for the time of year as we each carried a liter.
