Report

This is a well maintained trail that became a 3/4 ranked climb/scramble, and then returned to a nice trail run again. We completed this run based off Climber Kyle's beta on 7/3/21. There was only two small patches of snow on the descent. Conditions were great weather wise. We showed up at the Tubal Cain Trailhead the night before and used my Garmin two way communicator to send SOS messages to the parents of two lost 15 year old hikers that showed up around 11pm. The run was beautiful and I would highly recommend the Tubal Cain trail and the Little Quilcene trail; the scramble connection was rough and destroyed my shoes/hands. I wouldn’t do it without some climbing experience and definitely not alone. I would go back to run/backpack the trails, but wouldn’t redo the whole loop as the scramble was A LOT. I also think its pretty important to do it clockwise. This was completed with my friend Charlie, who found the run on the Seattle trail running facebook group so shout out to Charlie.
