We are a husband-wife mixed gender team. We started at the Red Cross trail to get to the northern start of the Beech Trail to do a southbound run. It was warm and a bit muggy, but trail conditions were dry. Mark initially led but due to Anna’s familiarity with the trail, it was decided she would lead until the first road crossing. After that, Mark led at every portion but the road crossings as the trail becomes difficult to navigate at those locations if one hasn’t been there before. We were always within about 100 feet of one another. The climb about halfway to 2/3 of the way through seems to be where most of the elevation gain for this run is and where most of the time is lost (besides road crossings) but the trail has some great runnable portions where time can be made up. It ends at the intersection of Long Path where a pyramid of rocks marks it. There is a little cemetery along the way, about 3/4 of the way through. Anna had her vest for a longer run, but none of the supplies were used. Together, we beat the female FKT by around 4 minutes.
