More people need to do this route! I needed an adventure and this fit the bill perfectly. My friend shared this route with me earlier this week. When I saw there was only one entry, I figured I should do this route and submit my FKT. I'm not fast, so pretty much anyone else who runs this should be able to beat this time, unless you stop for more pastries. lol. I started at the Bridge Creek Trailhead at highway 20. I packed enough stuff for the whole route but also planned to buy a treat at the Stehekin Pastry Company. I started pretty much right at sunrise, hoping to finish by sunset. It's a great runnable trail. I passed quite a few people out on the trail today. I felt great for the first 20 miles. I stopped in at the bakery and got a cinnamon roll and a bottle of gatorade. After about a 20 minute rest for food, I headed back out, up the Stehekin Valley Road. It was slow going for me because it was the hot part of the day. Once I got up to the PCT, I kept going, slow and steady, and gradually climbing. I got all my water from streams and rivers that the trail crossed. I could carry two liters of water, but never felt like i needed to carry that much. I had to turn my light on with about three miles to go. Finished in the dark. I ran the whole thing by myself. Hoping to go back to Stehekin some day to spend some time and relax there. It seems like such a nice town.
