Bear and Boar 444. Such a great running adventure. If you reach out the Shae Merritt at WTF podcast and make a donation to the Florida trail (a non-profit that do maintenance on this particular trail) you can also get the best belt buckle ever. Get with Shae for the details on that aspect of this route.
My highest milage day was 72 miles my slowest was 26 miles. Averaged running 47 miles a day. Most day I ran 12 hours each day and slept and ate the other 12 hours. I staked out a good bit. I only slept on the trail 3 nights. I wanted to enjoy the trails and not completely destroy myself with the running. Looking forward to seeing more people do this track and enjoy.
Trail goes through, green swamp, richloam, Croom, Citrus, Greenway, Ocala National forest, Toschachee, Bull Creek. I started at the Southern East, West junction point and Went on the Western corridor, then made my way back down on the Eastern Corridor to finish the loop. With it being Florida (very little elevation) and a big loop, I see no advantage to the direction of the loop or where you stop. I picked the southern point so that on day one I could knock out the 70ish miles of road section. Also it was a convenient point for me to stake out and go to my house at night on day 3 and day 4.
On the trail I saw, bears, boars, gators, armadillos, cranes, Sherman fox squirrels, and so much more. Feel free to look up my facebook I have a lot of video's showing the highs and lows of my adventure. Which are all public.
I was crewed by my wife Valiere Rochon. I typically saw her in the morning and at night and lunch time. I was paced by Scott and Oliva Hoover and John Baughman, and my wife. I was supported by all of them and Joseph Miller came out and gave me some cheering and some pizza.
