I started at the Water Wheel at Cape Leeuwin at 3:44am on Saturday morning 19th October 2019
I purchased lunch and drinks (Beerfarm Lager) in Prevelly at the Prevelly cafe, also purchased a drink (Beerfarm IPL) and snack at Gracie's general store.
I filled up at all Cape to Cape camp ground water tanks. Upon reflection, I needed to carry more water, I ran out of water between Contos campground and Prevelly town as I only carried 1L and this was about a 22km leg in the middle of the day and the temperature got up to 33 degrees Celsius.
The Cape to Cape markers were really easy to follow, with new reflective ones compared to the old rectangular ones. The only section that didn't have the new markers was between Quinninup Brook (Wilyabrup) and Injidup Beach.
Temperature ranged from 14-33 so was hot during the day and mild at night.
Finished at Cape Naturaliste 6:26am Sunday morning 20th October 2019
Saw some beautiful South West wildlife, including a big goanna, one fat dugite, heaps of roos, an emu and her 4 chicks, heaps of birdlife and dolphins. The wildflowers along the track were spectacular, especially around Contos.
I would also recommend sand gaiters as I wasn't wearing any and was emptying my shoes every 20-30min in some sections.
A highlight of the track was getting to experience sunrise at Cape Leeuwin on Saturday and then sunrise the next morning as I was coming into Cape Naturaliste. Overnight was really peaceful with the sound of the ocean with you the whole time and a beautiful clear starry night sky.
