Cabane : 1h30

Sommet : 2h50

Cabane : 3h23

Zinal : 4h09

English:

Eliott and I set off from the church in Zinal at around 8 a.m., with the goal of getting back there as quickly as possible, with a little detour to the summit of the Bishorn.

We decided to carry all the equipment necessary for glacier safety, except for traditional crampons, which we replaced with microspikes for trail shoes.

We didn’t stop at the hut to buy anything and carried all the water and food we consumed ourselves.

We received a few unexpected but very welcome words of encouragement on the glacier, probably the result of being on a very popular normal route and seeing two guys running across a glacier at 4,000 metres in shorts. Thanks to those people!

We reached the summit in 2h50 and spent 3 minutes up there, the only 3 minutes of the whole outing when we weren’t looking at our feet. We enjoyed it!

On the way down, from Tracuit Hut onwards, I pushed a little harder than Eliott and made it back to the church in 4:05:47, with Eliott joining me in 4:09:00 , just in time for lunch.

What a pleasure to share such a day with a friend and absolutely blow our minds doing this together as a team. Highly recommended. Thanks, Eliott!

We hope we’ve laid down a nice benchmark that will inspire others to go faster. Otherwise, we’ll come back ourselves, a little wiser, and try to break the 4-hour mark.

Our split times were:

Hut: 1:30

Summit: 2:50

Hut: 3:23

Zinal: 4:09
