My husband and I set out nice and early since the temps were supposed to get into the 90s. It was about 70 and 95% humidity at 7 am. We were unsupported and carried our own water. We had never run here before and it has been over 15 years since I mountain biked out here, so we weren’t sure of what to expect. Small hills for WI standards, but large for IL. Nice, technical, single track. Very pretty views of the forest and some bits of prairie. Mountain bikes started coming out about half way around, so we had to keep jumping into the brush and thorns. Mile 8 we had a close call with a mountain bike and a blind curve. Thought I was going to take a header into a tree. Brief walk to calm down and then pushing forward. Excellent trail and loads of fun.
