Slept at the trailhead last night to beat the potential crowds this morning and awoke to a beautiful cold, sunny morning in Southern Ohio. I did the 15mi loop solo and unsupported. I carried a water bottle and some gels but had no other support or supplies throughout. Was mostly just fueled by pre-run coffee and oats.
Got a bit turned around about halfway through the loop because of a large fallen tree that blocked the trail and threw me off but eventually found the blaze and was able to truck on.
This is such a nice loop any time of the year - even in the dead of winter. I'd recommend it to anyone whether they are from the area or not. It encompasses all things great about southern Ohio trails and is certainly worth the drive.
