Spotted this FKT route had been created but without a time set so far. Therefore it seemed like a good opportunity for myself and Rob to set a benchmark! We drove to the carpark by the cafe and set-off at 9:40am carrying nothing and using no supplies throughout the effort. A long slog up to Turn House Hill was rewarded by some amazing views before checking off the next 4 peaks all the way to West Kip with relative ease in just over the hour. With the long downhill at the end a sub2 hour effort looked like it could be on the cards and gave us the motivation to keep pushing while re-summiting the peaks on the way back. Upon returning to Turn House Hill a quick look at the watch showed 1hr 43mins, a casual 17min/mile to break the 2hr mark - very runnable! In the end we returned to the cafe in 1hr 55min and 1sec. A brief but grand show of what the Pentland's has to offer and it will be exciting to see how far the record can be reduced.
