On the morning of Saturday the 22nd of August myself and Adam Lucas-Lucas started our journey along the High Weald Landscape Trail. We decided to tackle the trail in the reverse direction as it was easier logistically to finish at Horsham. It was a great summer's day and the weather was dry and bright. Temperatures reached a high of 25°c during the day and the heat was very energy zapping especially in the middle of the day. We were lucky to be supported by my parents throughout the journey and they met us at several points with food and drinks. The trail itself was difficult to navigate at points due to it being overgrown with brambles and also a few of the trail markings were difficult to follow coherently. There were lots of interesting things to see along the way from the various villages to the large climbing rock faces. It was tough going during the night when the temperature dropped and so did our pace. We kept on top of our fuelling as best we could and plowed on towards Horsham. We arrived at the town just as the sun was rising and it was a great way to finish our journey.
