Started at the northen terminus off the Plainfield Pike. This trail gets an extremely bad rap, but I find it to be a classic example of new england trail running. Loose rocks, lots of water crossings, jeep road, single track, mud, terrible footing and roots. There are no groomers out here. The southern end after crossing Hell Hollow Rd is not as well defined as the rest of the trail, so extra vigilance towards the blue blazes is necessary. Turn around at the Nehantic Trail is very well marked.
