Started in Woodard Bay in the cool morning with a very light mist. The trail was very quiet but for the sounds of all the birds waking up. The trail is extremely well-marked, pedestrian bridges are wide and easy to see making it a safe trail. A few road crossings but again, well marked and maintained. Lots of gorgeous marsh land and small lakes. An army of frogs and a few eagles about to say hello. The finish at Yelm-Tenino was not as clear as the start, but still recognizable. Pick-up points from the trail are not simple, but available with a savvy friend. I thoroughly enjoyed the trail and would run it in either direction as it was lovely. Quiet trail, well-kept and just gorgeous. Flat and easy. Highly recommend this trail as a fun place to run.
I carried my own food but had a friend meet me at 4 check-points for safety since I didn't know the trail. She handed me water near the small sculpture garden and I continued to the end.
