Beautiful fall day in the Adirondacks. Night temps dipped below freezing in the high peaks, so I waited for the midday sun to melt the possible ice up high. Left a car in New Russia and was dropped off at the Ridge trail parking area on 73. Hit the trail right around 1 pm and got on the summit of Giant at 2:01. In my opinion, not too busy or icy. A bit muddy coming off of Giant to RPR. It was awesome to see snow in the trees up high. Was in a great flow and made my way over to RPR, getting there by 2:30. Was excited for the descent (It's my favorite part!), hoping to make good time and be off in an hour, but took a good fall and struggled to find a flow state on the descent. Super fun route and perfect midday conditions, sunny near 50. Completely unsupported with no pacers. Ran into some awesome people on trail (Including Paul Fronhofer) and chatted very briefly. Carried 2 liters of water, 600 calories of snacks, shell, mask, MP3 player and phone. Recorded on Strava and Sunnto watch.
