Great Memorial Day weekend on the Devil's Path in the Catskills. The Catskills are so amazing and beautiful. So many people were out on trail enjoying them.
Temps: Began in the high 50's and pushed to high 70's/ low 80 by the end of the day. Felt like the first day of summer hiking.
Trail Conditions: Great! Not too muddy, only in certain sections and not for long.
I drove 3.5 hours from the Adirondacks on Sunday morning, met Jason at the western end point and we set up the car shuttle. We are currently working on the Northeast Ultra Eight Sky Runner challenge and trying to get any FKTS we can along the way. https://www.trailrunnermag.com/destinations/northeast-destinations/nort…
We hit trail at 9:30, lots of people on trail, it was fun to see. Hit our self-supported picnic table area just over four hours in, resupplied water and food. Got a little dehydrated on the first half. Rebounded on the second. I find the first half of the Devils east to west to be the most challenging.
Got back on the road and drove home!
