Amazing day in the mountains.
Perfect conditions: Temperature in the high 50s to low 60s and trails were dry.
Adrian and I left LP a little after 9am to drive out to Big Crow. I stretched in the parking lot and sorted gear. Then headed up Big Crow at 9:58am. There was so many supportive people on trail and a beautiful energy was blooming. Up Big Crow in about 12 minutes and back down to the parking lot. I dropped some gear and grabbed a water bottle and headed for Hurricane. I went up and over Hurricane and Adrian picked me up on Route 9. On to Baxter. Good climb and back to the car, right at the 2 hour and 30 minute mark (12:30 pm).
In the car, I switched pants and shoes, going from VJs to La Sportiva. Hit a good hiking flow on Pitchoff and Van Hoevenberg. Adrian went into town for more water and chips. I was craving salt. Mount Jo and Cobble seemed to go by quick and I came off Cobble at 4:35 pm.
Now the hard part... Bear Den and Catamount. My legs just seemed to lose steam on the uphill and Bear Den was probably the worst of the 9, because I was thinking about finishing on Catamount the whole time. Both are very steep.
So thankful for all the cheers on trail. Adrian did a great job driving.
Calves are tired.
Conditions were excellent.
