I did an out and back of the southern fork of the Wabash Cannonball Trail. My watch said 18.14 miles at the turnaround point, so that's my best guess at the accurate mileage of the length of the southern fork, On the way back I had to double back a bit because I dropped my sunscreen. Rather than turn around where the two forks of the trail meet, I did a little extra and went to Jerome road as it appears that's what others have done for the route in the past so I thought Id keep it the same for the out and back.

I started at 7:26am and finished at 4:16pm. My body wasn't cooperating and I started to have hip and foot pain after a while, so I walked a good portion of the route rather than running the whole thing. My total mileage for the out and back was 36.58 miles.

I did the route unsupported with a running vest and water bottle belt. I only filled up water at a public restroom in the town of Whitehouse that was right on trail about 12 miles from the start. That appeared to be the only place to fill up water on the route, but I suspect it might be closed in winter. I'm not sure.

The weather was good- sunny, 80 degrees, and 15-20 mph winds.
