Zion Trifecta  20hrs21mins, Unsupported

Team of 3 (Tanner Jensen, Wesley Beck, Braxton Adams)

Starting with Kolob, then Imlay, then finishing with Heaps.

A total of around 31 miles, with packs weighing somewhere between 35-45lbs.

We started from the West Rim Trailhead at 4PM on 9/21/24, and returned to the same point at 7:11PM. (3hrs 11mins for Kolob). There we took about a 10 minute break to eat before running down the West Rim Trail towards Imlay. We arrived at the drop-in for Full Imlay around 8:30PM, about 30mins after dark. Going through Full Imlay through the night was a surreal experience, but we had lots of fun and enjoyed seeing the stars and moonlight on the canyon walls. We did 3 total pothole escapes, all in semi-easy mode that we were able to mono/climb out of. We arrived at Temple of Sinawava at about 2:30AM, totaling 7hrs 19mins for Full Imlay. Afterwards, we ran down the main canyon to the Grotto, and used the water fountains there to refill our bottles. We left from the grotto around 3:30AM. Going up the bottom-up approach to Heaps was definitely the crux of the route. Our bodies were exhausted and our legs were totally giving out. We pushed through one milestone at a time, first arriving at Scout’s lookout, then Cabin Spring, then finally at the top of the ridge into Phantom Valley. We made it to the first rappel on the ridge around 7:00AM, just as the sun was beginning to rise. After a few small pothole escapes and lots of achy, tired stumbling through Heaps, we finally made it to the final sequence around 11:30AM, got all three of us to the bottom by 12:00PM, and finished by running to the Lodge Parking Lot (arriving at 12:21PM) for a total of 20hrs 21mins and 22secs.
