I ran the Manning Camp route on an overcast day after we had received a lot of rain in the preceding days! I've run the route before and it is typically pretty dry, with the only reliable water availability at Manning Camp. I carried 2L of fluids and also brought my filter bottle along. It turns out that there was so much water along the route given the recent rains that I would not have needed to carry so much water; I ended up just drinking the 2L I carried and not needing to filter any water at all! I carried all my snacks/fuel with me as well. There was snow up near the top in the last couple of miles, but not enough to significantly slow me down, and the temperatures were actually perfect (this route is very hot in the summer)! My running group (Tucson Trail Runners) was doing the route on this day, but I ran by myself for the entire route. The previous women's course record was 5:45, set by Julie Henk in 2019 and is not on Strava. As you can see in my Strava file, I ran the ascent in 3:09:50.
